Why was I asked for a number when paying?

This happens when Stripe’s Link service is used at checkout. Link is a secure payment option from Stripe that lets you save your details for faster checkout across different online stores. You may have set up a Link account automatically when completing a previous purchase using Stripe Checkout — sometimes without realising it.

When you visit our checkout, Link may appear alongside other quick-pay options like Apple Pay or Google Pay. To complete payment, you’ll receive a one-time passcode (OTP) by email.

If you need to update your contact number linked to Link, you’ll need to log in at link.com, authenticate your account, and update your details there.
